The Lumen (proper spelling LUMEN) is a museum for mountain photography at the summit of Plan de Corones in South Tyrol. The history of mountain photography from its beginnings to the present is presented on four floors and 1800 square meters of exhibition space.
The Lumen was set up in the former mountain station of a cable car and opened in December 2018. It serves to expand the offer by the Messner Mountain Museum, which opened in 2015 on the summit of the Kronplatz.
In addition to the seasonally changing exhibitions, the history of photography and mountain photography is presented in the museum through a permanent exhibition spread over three floors.
